Tagaytay used to be my dream vacation spot. It still is, only difference is it’s not that much of a dream anymore because I’m finally able to go to this famous holiday spot more often – Thanks to my wife’s miraculous budgeting skills. Just a little planning and scheduling(not even scheduling sometimes), and we’re headed down south.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, most parks were still closed during our visit. That means there wasn’t much to do aside from strolling, finding a good view of Taal Lake, and eating at any restaurants of our choice. One of the best spots to visit in Tagaytay is Napa at Crosswinds – A Napa Valley-inspired restaurant just outside of a Swiss-inspired community.
Coming down here felt like we traveled to a different country, a peaceful one. I say down because to get here, you’ll have to go down a very steep road from the main highway. By the way, before you go down, just by the entrance you’ll find Ruined Project. It’s also an aesthetic café where the inside looks like it was built in the jungle. You’d wanna check that place out, too.
From Napa, we got a good view of Crosswinds. It looks kinda mysterious to me just looking at it from afar. All Those colorful buildings in the middle of a forest, surrounded by trees, it’s quite a sight to see.
Long Drive Breakfast & Grilled 4 Cheese Sandwich
The food was a bit hard on the wallet. (These two meals cost about 900 pesos!) But we were a few minutes away from the outside world and so hungry so we had no other choice. The food was okay. I would say it’s great considering the taste, as well as the portion, but I can’t feel certain because of the price.
To stop arguing with myself, I just think that the extra cost is not just for the food alone but also for the location itself. It’s like while you’re having a nice meal, your eyes also get fed with nature’s beauty. Kinda like that. Anyhow, this experience just inspires me to dream more and make it a goal for this to become not only a vacation, but also a normal way of living.
