road rage

Road Rage | Why Talk It Out When You Can Just Ruin Everyone’s Day?

April 11, 20255 min read

Road rage has been all the rage lately. Some have died, and some have been publicly shamed. Apparently, the only thing faster than a car on the highway is someone’s temper behind the wheel. Funny how a missed turn signal can turn your day into a full-blown telenovela, minus the commercial breaks, and the story is concluded within minutes.

After the drama, both sides walk away thinking they’ve won. In reality, all they’ve really gained is a few minutes of fame from the live audience - and a few more weeks of infamy once the footage hits social media, where the keyboard warriors come out in full force.

That is IF the roadside action ended with both sides still breathing.

"Oh naaawww, you didn’t just do that to me! Lemme chase you down and teach you some road manners, you piece o’ shit!" barks the rider, moments after swerving into oncoming traffic, all to avoid the SUV that just pulled a bold “Surprise, motherfucker!” maneuver while merging recklessly from the right, like it was auditioning for a Fast & Furious reboot, just without the insurance coverage.

Showing no remorse, the SUV just sped off like it had better places to be - like, court.

But this rider wasn’t about to let it slide. He went full throttle, engine roaring with vengeance, dead set on catching up. Turns out, his dad was riding with him, and was definitely down for the chase. Because nothing screams “sensible adult behavior” like forming a two-man motorcycle gang on the fly to deliver some DIY road justice. Very cool. Very rational. Very 2025.

After a few adrenaline-soaked minutes down the highway, the riders finally caught up, boxed the SUV in, and managed to get the driver to step out. The father-and-son duo itching to take things to the next round - a two-on-one roadside brawl that would give the unsuspecting live audience the show they didn't even ask and pay for, but would totally stop to watch since they've all got nothing better to do.

The audience put out their phones, shouting and even laughing as they recorded the SUV driver getting clobbered by a flurry of fists from the raging duo. That alone was painful enough, but what sealed the deal was his live-in partner, right there in the flesh, watching the beatdown unfold like she had VIP access to the front row seat.

They could’ve been splitting a four-cheese pizza on that lazy Sunday afternoon, but her reckless, SUV-drifting partner chose to feast on four fists from two helmet-wearing lunatics instead.

Unbeknownst to the already dominant duo, the SUV guy was hiding something in his satchel slung over his shoulder since he got out of his demon-possessed ride - a fucking pistol. No way his partner didn't know about that, right? Otherwise, why was she still standing there like she had front-row seats to a UFC fight, recording on her phone instead of begging her guy to accept defeat, take a piss, and book it out of there?

SUV guy finally snapped. "A’ight, that’s it. Show’s over." He pulled the gun from the satchel, aimed(or tried to) at the two helmeted maniacs, and fired. Bullet out of the barrel and, boom, straight into his live-in partner’s leg. Or body. Nobody could tell at that moment.

He could’ve stopped right there, dropped his already shattered ego, raised a white flag, told the helmet guys they’d made their point, and maybe even muttered a shaky "my bad" before running to his lady in distress.

But no. That would’ve been too logical, too human, too… boring.

Instead, he doubled down, the kind of pride move only a man bleeding more ego than common sense could commit to. He fired more shots. One shot tore through the son rider’s arm, another hit the dad square in the head, his average-quality helmet not badass enough to save him this time. Then another one through the chest of an unlucky audience member who was just trying to pacify the three grown babies having tantrums. If this were pay-per-view, he’d have already filed a lawsuit. Probably win enough in settlement to cover his hospital bills because he luckily survived.

Meanwhile, his partner was still on the ground, bleeding out and probably out of patience, thinking, "All this... for a fucking merge?"

Once everyone finally fucked off from his personal space, the SUV guy, now the most badass in the situation- (could’ve been more badass if there wasn’t any collateral damage… and if said collateral damage wasn’t his own partner. Jeezus.)- walked up to his lady, picked her up and carried her over to his SUV. One more power move: he yanked the helmet guy he shot in the head, still lying face-down beside the car, pulled him aside like roadkill, climbed in, and drove off like nothing happened.

More road chase, but this time it's the police behind the SUV. Sirens howling, lights flashing, tailing him all the way to a checkpoint, where the drama finally came to an end. SUV guy's turn to lie face down on the pavement, with one cop's foot on his back and another cop's foot on his ass, pinning him down hard. Final nail in the coffin where his ego now rests, just waiting to get buried. His partner? Rushed to the nearest hospital. Probably rethinking all her life choices between breaths.

God knows what kind of conversation went down inside that SUV during the final chase. Apologies? Blame game? Spotify playlist?

We'll never know. But that Sunday drive turned into the kind of legend that gets whispered about in gas stations and internet comment sections forever.
