Meet Our Awesome Team
Last August, I (re)married my wife, Shiela, in Boracay- our favorite island to visit on vacations.
We had our wedding day on the same date as our anniversary, August 31. It isn't exactly the best time to be in Boracay White Beach due to the Habagat(Southwest monsoon) season, when the weather is usually rainy and windy, or stormy at worst.
When we arrived the day before the wedding, it was already cloudy with a bit of drizzle. The third day after the wedding was worse because it was raining almost all day. The fourth day was MUCH worse- Not sure if it was a storm but the rain poured hard like that shot of whiskey I downed in our after-party.
Luckily- as if we were blessed- on the day of the wedding, the sun showed up. Though it also started getting cloudy during the ceremony, we still got to see a bit of sunset. I'm not really into miracles and that kinda stuff, but I gotta say, somehow it felt like something more than just luck.
With just three months to prepare(we really wanted our wedding date to be the same as our anniversary date and we wanted it to happen this year), we were in a rush which made things really stressful- well, mostly for my wife, I mean... We were getting close to the day of the wedding, yet the plans and preparations were still all over the place.
But when the wedding day arrived and the ceremony was finally over, we felt like we can finally breathe again. Everything happened so fast that we couldn't believe we actually made it. As if those three months of stress and overthinking just went by like a breeze.
We didn't want a fancy wedding. Both of us preferred it be intimate, with just our immediate families and closest friends. We skipped all the unnecessary extras that are usually part of the reception like the silly dances and games. Nope, not a fan of that. And I don't like the idea of pressuring guests to get married next, so no throwing of bouquet and the garter thing- whatever that is- either.
We did a bit of Tinikling dance, though, thanks to the performers who were there that night and invited us to try it. Sorry I didn't tip, I didn't have any cash ready. We didn't expect something like that to happen.😅
Our friends gave their speeches, we laughed and shared toasts, had great food, then more drinks and stories after. It was the perfect dinner- All of us sitting together at a long table, it was so intimate and special. Just how we wanted it to be.
Damn I love these guys.

I did mention we had a little after-party, though it actually happened the following night and wasn't in our plan at all. Like some people say, the best moments go unplanned. Too bad Shiela's friends already flew back home that day. Sorry they missed it.✌️
